Eddie Chavez

Edward Lee Chavez, 64, of Santa Fe passed away on Wednesday, September 10, 2014. Eddie was a lifelong resident of Santa Fe. In his youth, he played basketball. He attributed that to keep him out of trouble at that time. He was a truck driver for several Santa Fe companies, most recently RL Leeder. He raised his family in Santa Fe. Eddie loved to play golf, run, hunt, fish and watching Broncos football, even going to the Super Bowl in 1998. He gave his life to Jesus Christ on Christmas Day 1989. Jesus, Julia and Isaiah were the loves of his life. He served Christ faithfully at Christian Life for 24 years. Eddie was a quiet man, but the love of Christ shone brightly through him. He was loved by all who knew him.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Lee Espinosa Chavez and Nellie Encinias Chavez, sister, Isabel Chavez Rothman, and brother in law, Bobby Rothman.
He is survived by his wife of 23 years Julia M. Atilano Chavez, sons: Isaiah Chavez, Adrian Chavez, Eddie Chavez Jr., grandchildren: Darlene, Esperanza, Alexis, Andres, Little Adrian, Natancia, Cameron, sisters: Margie Chavez Cardenas (David), Mary Chavez Ryan (Mike), brothers: Steve Chavez, and Gino Chavez (Sandra).
On Saturday, September 20, 2014 family and friends will meet at Christian Life Fellowship at 10 am and follow to Burns Lake. A Funeral Service will be held on Sunday, September 21, 2014 at 2 pm at Christian Life Fellowship 121 Siringo Rd., Santa Fe, NM 87505
