Biography

Carolyn Frucht died at home on October 3, surrounded by family. She was 83 years old. Her life was dedicated to family, home, and her many artistic and intellectual pursuits. She was a wonderful cook, a devoted reader of newspapers, novels, cookbooks, and biographies, and took pride in never judging others. She taught her daughters elegance, compassion, respect, an
appreciation for humor, and the ability to speak their minds and stand up for themselves. She traveled the world with Howard, the love of her life, her husband of 58 years. Carolyn is survived by her three daughters, Sylvia LaMar (husband Rod Mehling), Elisabeth Frucht (partner Edwin
Eppich), Abby Frucht (husband Chuck Dahlke); former son in law, Randy LaMar; grandchildren: Alex (wife Jessica), Nathan (wife Vanessa), Jess (wife Ashlie), and Aimee (partner David Hernandez); and her great grandchildren, Donicio and Deonna LaMar Hernandez. Carolyn was beautiful, inside and out. There will be a service at 12:45 p.m., Tuesday October 7 at the National Cemetery, Santa Fe, N.M. , followed by a gathering celebrating Carolyn's life at the family home from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. Call 699-1969 for directions. Contributions to a charity of your choice or a random act of kindness may be made in her memory, with a smile.
