Robert Abeyta

Robert (Bobby) Abeyta, 65, a life long resident of Santa Fe, passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, July 13, 2008.

Robert was born September 14, 1942 in Santa Fe, the son of Salvador and Irene Abeyta. He attended schools in Santa Fe, and then served with the U.S. Air Force. Robert also owned and operated Abeyta's Roofing for many years in Santa Fe. He is a member of St. Anne's Catholic Church.

Robert is preceded in death by his parents, Salvador and Irene Abeyta, daughter, Luanna Abeyta, and sister, Annie Muller.
He is survived by 3 children, Roberta Howley and husband John Jr. of Santa Fe, Sam Abeyta of Rio Rancho, and Yolanda Abeyta of Santa Fe; brother, Pete Abeyta, sisters, Mary Lou Romero and husband Ben, and Priscilla Abeyta, 6 grandchildren, Dominic Vigil, Robert Abeyta, Samantha Abeyta, Isaac Jiron, Cynthia Jiron, Estevan Jiron, and Amanda Martinez, 4 great grandchildren; Dominic Vigil Jr., Ariana Vigil, Bridget Valdez-Abeyta, and Isabella Jiron. Robert is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews and other family members along with many friends.

A Rosary will be recited at 7:00pm Thursday, July 17, 2008 at St. Anne Catholic Church.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:30am ( Please note time has changed) Friday, July 18, 2008 at St. Anne Catholic Church .
Burial will follow with full Military Honors at Santa Fe National Cemetery.

Pallbearers will include: Dominic Vigil, Amanda Martinez, Samantha Abeyta, Isaac Jiron, Cynthia Jiron, and Estevan Jiron.
Honorary Pallbearers will be: Jessica Vigil, Patrick Martinez, Floyd Roybal, and Jorge Martinez.
