Life Legacy
Mary M. Gonzales, 79, of Santa Fe, passed away January 20, 2010 due to a lengthy illness.
Mary was born May 20, 1930 to Clara Rodriguez and Cecilio Mirabal in Nambe Pueblo. She married Gilbert R. Gonzales on December 27, 1952 in Santa Fe. She worked as a secretary at Federal Abstract Company for over 50 years. Mary was a member of St. John Parish.
She is preceded in death by her mother, Clara Rodriguez; father, Cecilio Mirabel; husband, Gilbert R. Gonzales; step-father, Jose Rodriguez; son, Edward M. Gonzales; sister, Aurelia Anaya; and son-in-law Gabriel Bustos Jr.
Mary is survived by brother Mario Rodriguez (Rebecca) of Santa Fe; daughters Theresa Gonzales (Larry Jaramillo) of Los Lunas, Cathy Gonzales (Mark Martinez) of Santa Fe, Marie Bustos of Pojoaque, Jo Ann Evans (Mike) of South Fork, CO, Raquel Montes (Ray) of Las Cruces, and Karla Gonzales (Paul Kavanaugh) of Santa Fe. She is also survived by 15 grandchildren, 9 great-grandchildren and friend Marcella Gonzales (Rudy) of Santa Fe.
A rosary will be recited January 25, 2010 at 7:00pm at St. John Parish. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated January 26, 2010 at 9:00am also at St. John Parish. Burial will follow mass at Santa Fe National Cemetery at 10:30am.
